3 Common FAQ’s Answered| Signs Greenville NC

Printing a variety of marketing materials like signs in Greenville, NC, we get a lot of questions about our process. From file formats to the finished product, we love helping all of our customers get the solution they need. With that in mind, here are 3 of our most common questions, answered.
1. How Should I Send My Graphics and Files?
If you’re sending a digital document to be printed, PDF or Portable Document Format is the most common and preferred file format. Most programs come with PDF exporting capability but with the installation of a PDF print driver on your computer, any program can generate a PDF file suitable for printing. Both commercial and free PDF print drivers are available online for download from different sources.
In terms of design files, it can vary from program to program:
Corel Draw- Make sure to save your Corel Draw file as an Adobe Illustrator EPS. In addition embed all images, convert all your text/copy to outline fonts, and export as Illustrator EPS
Freehand- For this program embed all Images, convert all your text/copy to paths, and export as Illustrator EPS or PDF
Pagemaker- Like the previous programs, save your file as an EPS. In this process make sure to embed all images, convert all your text/copy to outline fonts, and when you export to EPS make sure to use the settings Postscript Level 2, CMYK Mode, TIFF Format, and Binary.
Publisher- For this, you will need the full version of Adobe Acrobat PDF. Under File, Print, select Adobe PDF writer, then under Properties select Press Quality and Save your PDF. Resolution should be set to 300 dpi.
As a tip for better quality images, pictures and graphics pulled from the internet are often low resolution, typically 72 dpi or 96 dpi. Avoid these kinds of graphics, as they will appear pixilated and blocky when printed. Also note that you should all photos should be saved in CMYK mode when possible. Images saved in RGB mode may not print properly. If you are unable to save your image in CYMK mode, please let us know.
2. How Long Will it Take?
When we take on a printing job, we generally have a turnaround time of 5-7 business days from approval until it is ready to pick-up or ship. Special arrangements may be made upon request for jobs that are needed sooner.
3. How do I get an estimate from you?
